Shirley Maclaine

Cloud Nine Day - thanks to my good friend Gene today I got to work with a real star of the screen an actress that awe is all you can say - Shirley Maclaine. Part of the delight was weather meant the crew were later arriving so I got to sit and chat - life, politics, directors, film and acting for a whole hour before hand. We discussed filters, lights, and framing she knows it all. Professional, fun, a real tour de force. She listened and took direction but deep down you just know she knew it all. A delight yes, an education indeed, but most importantly one of those life experiences that enriches.

Mexican song for 'What? or a road trip to Europe'

The film will feature the following track

Y Te Lo Pidoby David Olivarez, ASCAP
Ser-Ca Publishing, 2010

'Y te lo pido' means 'I ask of you'. The song is about asking their loved one to return to them, that they have made a mistake and love and miss them very much. So, 'I ask of you to return to me'.

It's good to work with living musicians.

Film Festival Success

Comic Com is an amazing event and actually screening in a film festival I was able to attend rather than just doing the submission paperwork for was a lot of fun. More so, as we came away with an actual producers award.

While last night many film buffs were watching the Golden Globes the real film drama was being played out in at
Comic Com, Albuquerque, USA.

I'm pleased for the directors and all the film's creative team to announce The Astronomer's Sun walked away with the vote for CINEMATOGRAPHY and the AUDIENCE vote as well as the star prize, BEST PRODUCED FILM. Other than the animation award and director's award we'd walked away with the 3 top prizes watched by over 1,000 people.

A strategy of targeting film festivals has produced 12 awards in just a year giving all involved in the film's production a fantastic resume of success. Submitting to film festivals is expensive and not all festivals give out actual physical awards but, Comic Com's first film festival did for Best Produced Film creating the blue action hero (see photo) in true comic book style.
